Blackheads And Whiteheads: What's The Difference?

Blackhead and whiteheads are types of acne (known as comedones) but is not as big as a regular acne. Comedones and acne both result from overproduction of androgen which is most commonly known as male hormones for both amle and female during puberty. These hormones cause the sebaceous glands to produce oil and the oil then gets trapped in the pores along with dead skin cells and dirt. Bacteria then flourish and caused appearance of acne.

The only difference of a whitehead/blackhead from acne is the pus. Acnes have pus inside the skin that protudes deep into the skin while a whitehead/blackhead is just a trace of the infected skin pore. Now, what causes comedones to be a blackhead or a whitehead? According to an article,a whitehead is the infection that remains on top of the skin while a blackhead is an infection that got exposed and was oxidized that caused it to appear black.

 Nowadays there are many remedies for comedones in the market. You can buy one at any convenient store or drugstore in your area. However, it would always be much better to consult a skin care expert to check it out. We have remedies ranging from home remedies to vitamins and much more. However, let us only discuss the three most common ways on how to treat comedones.

1.) Remember that comedones are stimulated by oil and dirt and the only way to get rid of it is by proper skin care hygiene. You do not have to scrub your face to death just to get rid of it. You are just going to get matters worse by doing that. A gentle cleansing can actually do wonders if not totally get rid of your comedone problem. Try to know your skin type because some soaps are not compatible with your type of skin. Consulting a dermatologist to know your skin type can be beneficial on your part. They may even recommend you with the products that is most suitable for you.
2.) Many people have learned that benzoyl peroxide is quite effective in getting rid of your acne and comedone problem. Benzoyl Peroxide dries out the pus or the left over bacteria within the affected skin pore. You can see the effect right away if you cleanse your face first before applying the ointment. It can get rid of your comedone and acne problem in less than two weeks time if you continue to use it. Do remember that you have to seek a skin care specialist's approval before you can use a benzoyl peroxide ointment because it has certain percent to each ointment. It means that something might happen to your face if you put an ointment that has more benzoyl peroxide in it.
3.) Put in mind that comedones and acnes are just a part of a typical person's life. You can fight acne through constant practic of proper hygiene that is backed up with a stress- free life. Remember to gently clean your face before going to bed and once you wake up. Proper hygiene can actually do wonders.
